Backstage Crew

Lighting

Our lighting engineer is Alex Simpson. Alex has been in charge of our lighting and special effects for over 3 years. He has been ably assisted during performances by Ray Shepherd and Ellis Simpson and all three have brought real quality to our productions. Alex is also the main man when it comes to the sound and sound effects. We have been very lucky to have won a very handsome grant from the Lottery fund and have been able to purchase our own sound equipment, thus saving a huge amount by not having to hire it all in each time we have a performance.

Brian Holder

Brian recently joined the Stagelights and helped us greatly in our last production 'A Blast From The Past' where he was able to take on the sound and made a great difference to the whole show, we hope he will stay with us for many more productions. His own words will appear here soon so please pop back to meet him properly.

Stage Manager

John Hicks

John is stage manager for Bugsy Malone. He has stage managed several plays and pantomimes in the past and enjoys it very much.

Artistic Director

Ralph Tilton was one of the main instigators at the 'beginning' and is now our 'main man' with the paint brush. No scene seems to be too great or too small. If it wants twigs, panels or wallpaper effects Ralph will come up trumps.

Props Manager

Rod Cresswell is doing the props for Bugsy Malone, and is looking forward to doing it. He hasn't actually held this post before so will find it very interesting getting all the personal props together

Wardrobe Mistress

Brenda Harris joined The Stagelights to support her daughters Jordan & Ashleigh and was roped in to help out Wind in the Willows with duties such as 'calling' the cast during performances etc. But her skills as needle woman soon became very evident and she has been promoted to the heady heights of Wardrobe Mistress for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. And what an excellent job she has done in the wardrobe dept. It is no mean feat when you are suddenly asked to produce 120 costumes for a pantomime or Variety show, but Brenda does so without a second thought.

Stagehands

Neil's picture will appear here soon

Mark Veitch

Mark jumped into the hot seat and became Stage Manager for the Blast From The Past and enjoyed it very much. He is also going to be pulling the ropes for Sinbad the Sailor. Stage Manager is no mean feat and takes a lot of organising, but Mark does this with much dexterity.

Luke O'Callaghan (14yrs)

Luke has been with the Stagelights for nearly 2 years, He first joined us to take a part in 'Wizard of Oz'. after that he decided he would rather help backstage for 'The Wind in the Willows' and enjoyed it very much so he is now enjoying being a regular member of the backstage crew.

We are always pleased to welcome anyone else who would like to come along and help us with any back stage tasks, no matter how big or small. You just have to contact anyone on the 'Contact Us' List above.
