Prescilla the Golden Goose
Another show has come and gone, and Mother Goose was one to go down in history as a great show enjoyed by everyone. After a rocky start in October we soon got into our stride and lines were learnt and props were made, the scenery came about and soon it was all put together at Emersons Green village hall for our patrons. Many of whom took the time and effort to let us know how much they enjoyed it.
It all began on a warm and pleasant summers day in the village of 'Tumbledown-on-the-Marsh'. the local annual fair was in full swing. Fairy Fey, the yellow Fairy played beautifully by Joanna Claydon reassured us all that things would get tough but she was sure that things would turn out alright in the end, but 'Fairy Frumpy' played with great conviction by Sue Humphris was the evil fairy who would make all Fey's spell go awry, Damn her!

Soon nasty Baron Offenbroke, played by the inimitable Neil Stanley came barging into the proceedings announcing that it was time to collect the rent and his two comedic side kicks, 'Smash' played by Sam Balch and 'Grab' played by his erstwhile chum Findlay Claydon were the ones who would have to do it, much to their disgust. The villagers were most alarmed and were sorely worried that they would be unable to pay up, especially Mrs Gertrude Goose (John Hicks) The local baker, who had spent all her hard earned cash on fluffy frivolities and furbelows, and would have to sell the bakery to pay the baron off.

It soon became clear that Fairy Fey would be able to help out and summoned her friend Prescilla Goose to the village to lay some golden eggs for Gertie, and so very soon Prescilla, who had life breathed into her by the talented Roderick Cresswell, was laying the most beautiful golden eggs for Gertie. Her Son 'Cecil' portrayed by April Dickie so admirably, soon found himself chasing after Smash & Grab who had gooseyknapped Prescilla and were on their way to throw her down the Old Magic Wishing well, so she would end up in the land of Ice.

Sam Veitch.magnificently played 'Nemesis' the Ice Queen who ruled the land of Ice with a rod of Iron and all her penguins were forced to work for their feed which consisted solely of fish, so when Prescilla turned up she was put to work as well, and very soon she was singing and dancing along with the penguins. Cecil and the beautiful Princess Monica played by beautiful Emma Smart were hot on the tail of Prescilla chased by Gertie and the Baron and then Smash & Grab. As you can imagine mayhem ensued and it wasn't long before they were all in trouble with Nemesis. Thankfully however Fairy Fey had given Cecil a pot of salt and this was duly blown over Nemesis. who melted in double quick time and disappeared thus breaking all spells made in The Land of Ice and very soon our heroes were on their way back to 'Tumbledown where Cecil and Monica would be married and all would live happily ever after, Hurrah.
