At the end of January 2009 The Stagelight put on their 7th Pantomime, Red Riding Hood which was written by Graham Barraclough. It was full of jokes and comedy throughout, and generously littered with songs and dances which gave it a real feeling of the traditional family pantomime.
The cast thoroughly enjoyed rehearsing and performing this panto, and laughter was to be heard at every rehearsal right upto and including the last performance, and that was just from the cast. The audiences also enjoyed the panto very much and many very good comments were recieved in the minutes and days following.
Below are a few pictures taken during the dress rehearsal with a short bit of several film clips taken at the same time, Kind permission has been given by the author for us to show these.
The first pictures are taken by John Hicks teh pictures further down are taken by Rebecca & Bethany Veitch. to go straight to these click here
Granny gives Barney a lesson in ettiquette
Fairy Dust gives Barney just one wish, Oh what should he wish for? He just wishes he could think of a wish! Kazamm!! and he has had his wish. Poor Barney, never gets it right!
Red Riding Hood has a basket full of mushrooms for Granny.
Dick Turnip and Lancelot Latch plotting to get Turnips money back from underneath Grannies cottage
Turnip meets the pretty Miss Hood and he formulates a cunning plan.. Latch, pretend you're a Werewolf, he says.
The Butterflies, Ladybird and Bee dance around Grannies garden sipping at the nectar and come upon a sleepy Granny.

One sexy Granny!
Uh oh! look out Dee and Dumm are about. Catching criminals was never their forte, so catching butterflies instead? Yes, just the job for them!
They looked high and low for butterflies, but didn't even manage to catch one of them either.
Latch couldn't fool anyone, Turnip tried to fool everyone, but Holly Hood soon got the measure of them, Mind you Granny was in a bit of a fluster.
Unhand me you cad! she cried.
Then the real werewolf came and scared everyone.
Fairy Dust to the rescue again, bless her pink pulchritudiness.
But Rowan, being the brave soul that he was soon got to grips with him but fortunately didn't quite manage to chop his head off, even though he tried really hard.
Take that you boundah!
The complete gang.
He's behind you!
He was this tall!
