The Quiz Night

11/02/08

I am very pleased to report that the quiz night, held at Wesley Memorial was a great success and went along extermely well. There were 10 teams who entered the quiz and all came armed with a selection of 10 questions each. As there were so many teams we decided to use 6 questions from each team, a member from each team was elected and stood up to ask the other teams their questions. Lots of fun and laughter ensued as the evening progressed.

The evening successfully raised £50.50 for the club coffer

Table full of nice Christmas fare

Adults Musical Chairs. They cheated too much and had far too much fun!

Ok! So lets see you cheat with this balloon under the chin race

You'll manage it if you laugh!

Ralph is umpire to stop any tomfoolery & Hankin and Pankin!

I'll hold it in place for you! ~ Oh, thank you so much!

No! I'll just hold you, then it can't escape.

That's it, under there!

Smiling is allowed!

Ohh Your too tall I can't reach your chin.

Ah ha! the perfect height!

Whaaat! between the knees now?

That's it, squeeze a little harder!

What? Like this?

Knees and Chin? You've gotta be kidding

Make sure it's only the balloon I get under my chin!

Father Christmas arrives, Hooray

Have a biscuit? No Ta! I'd rather have a nice pressie.

There's one in here somewhere, I know I put at least one in here!

You want whaat ?

Well. I''ll see what I can do. But of course it might not come down the chimbley!

Ohh tell me another one, I like a good joke!

And have you both been good this year?

Thank you Santa, where do the batteries go?

Wont anyone have a biscuit?.... Pleeeeese

Ah ha at last, I knew I'd get the older lot if I offered the biscuits, they can't refuse a nice biccie.

I just slip my hand up your back and you pretend it's you doing the talking!

Oi! careful you'll 'ave me whiskers off.

I think I could get used to all this cuddling

We are not amused!

I think the word you can't see is 'coming' .

Chew! chew!, chomp! munch!

Slurp!, Yum Yum! chomp! chew!

Please sir, can I have some more?

No you can't have any, now be off and go and paint the stables.

Oopps Pardon Me!

Under we go! I like limboing

I'll try it sideways think.

Lets go both ways.

I'll never live this down!

If I do it with me legs wide apart I wont be so tall to start with.

And all thats left now is to clean up!

We had a great party, and all our thanks must go to Brenda and Pauline for organising it and making it such a success

Adults Annual Dinner ~ Saturday 2nd February 2008

This years annual dinner was held at Bottelino's at Emmerson's Green. We all had a very good time and the food, as always was delicious. Pauline had done a fair job of organising us to all be at the same place at the same time. We arrived at 8p.m. and were tucking into our chosen dishes around 9p.m. The evening went with a fair swing what with the restaurant being so busy. The first half a dozen times we heard "Happy Birthday" played for various customers was fun but by the time we'd heard it 13 or 14 times we were getting more than a little brassed off with it, but on the whole we all had a very pleasant evening. About 22 people turned up for the event so it was a success.(See the pictures below) A toast was raised in memory of our very dear Phyllis Smith who passed away in September last year, she had very kindly bequeathed the club a sum of money to be spent on the annual dinner and a party for the children.

Sponsored Walk - June 2005

A good number of us went on a sponsored walk along the old rail track from Bitton towards Bath. We were intending to walk as far as Saltford, but the weather was so atrocious that we were only able to walk about 4 miles before we had to give in. but even so we were very pleased to have raised a considerable sum for the Theatre club funds

(Sorry no pics of the walk at the moment. Please look in again later)
